SAN FRANCISCO – The nation’s top-ranked team, UCLA was tabbed the No. 1 seed in the third-annual Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship to be held Thursday-Saturday, April 26-28 on the campus of Stanford University. Seedings were determined by a ranking of the league’s coaches.
The Bruins earn the top seed in the championship for the first time, claiming the second seed in each of the first two years of the event. Two-time defending Pac-12 and NCAA Champion USC is the No. 2 seed and have been ranked in the top five in the country all season.
Rounding out the top three is California (21-6), notching its first 20-win season in program history, topping its previous best of No. 4 in 2016. Host-Stanford (16-11) is the No. 4 seed, steadily improving its position after garnering the No. 5 seed in 2017 and No. 6 in 2016.
Arizona (19-10) claims the No. 5 seed, followed by Washington (12-11) at No. 6, Arizona State (10-18) at No. 7, Utah (4-10) at No. 8 and Oregon (2-8) at No. 9.
The Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship will be played at the Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium. Play begins on Thursday and Friday at 8 a.m. PT with the last dual of the day slated for 4:45 p.m. PT on both days. Saturday action begins at 9 a.m. PT with the champion being determined at 3 p.m. PT.
All three days of the championship will be televised on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Bay Area with Anne Marie Anderson and Holly McPeak calling the morning action, and Kevin Barnett and Mike Dodd in the afternoon.
