Pair of the Week: SOPHIE BUKOVEC and ALLIE WHEELER, USC
• The senior duo went 5-0 and did not drop a set, helpnig the Trojans win five duals and complete the regular season with an unblemished 30-0 record.
• No pair reached 19 points in any set against the USC tandem last week. In pivotal victories over No. 1 Long Beach State and #2 UCLA, the duo beat LBSU’s Sasha Karelov and Kobi Pekich, 21-16, 21-14; and took down UCLA’s Kamila Tan and Madi Yeomans, 21-13, 21-13. The Trojan seniors also defeated Stanford’s Payton Chang and Ivana Vanjak, 21-16, 21-13, and earned wins over Madi Busler and Jocelyn Rodriguez of CSU Bakersfield (21-12, 21-18) and Taylor Nelson and Adlee Van Winden of Cal Poly (21-15, 21-17).
• Bukovec and Wheeler improved to 17-5 on the season with a 16-4 mark in duals.
• It is the first pair of the week honor for the tandem, and the 11th all-time. Trojans pairs have claimed the weekly honor five times this season with four different pairs earning the honor.
• Defending NCAA Champion and No. 1 USC prepares for the Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championships which begins on Thursday, April 27 in Tucson, Ariz.
