GREENSBORO, N.C. – Pitt’s Layne Van Buskirk has been named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week, while Georgia Tech’s Mikaila Dowd and NC State’s Jade Parchment have been selected as Co-Freshmen of the Week.
Van Buskirk was key in the Panthers’ road wins at Florida State (3-1) and Miami (3-2), which secured the 2018 ACC Volleyball Championship and the league’s NCAA automatic qualification. The junior middle hitter from Windsor, Ontario, racked up 21 total kills on a .405 hitting percentage across the two matches, and added 16 total blocks.

Dowd had a strong performance in Georgia Tech’s 3-1 win against Virginia. The rookie outside hitter from Naperville, Illinois, tallied 20 kills, 10 digs and four service aces during the match.

Parchment was key in NC State’s sweep of North Carolina. The rookie outside hitter from Kensington, Maryland, recorded 10 kills on a .292 hitting percentage, and added 11 digs in the match.
