It is nearing the end of the 2017-18 club season, with countries concluding their domestic play, crowning their new champions. While many of the champions this season are not strangers to the title, many have come out and proven themselves for the first time in years.

Out of Cyprus, Green Air Pafiakos won the best-of-three series against Omonia to win the title for the first time in 12 years. The team lost the first set but turned it around to go up 2-1 in the match before falling in the fourth which forced a deciding fifth set. Pafiakos saw the score tied at 12 all before going on a 3-0 run to claim the title. Also breaking a huge winning gap was Korean Air in the Korean V-League, winning 3-0 over Hyundai Capital to take the title for the first time in 49 years.

Volero Zurich’s win over Viteos NUC was the team’s 13th Swiss Cup win in the history of the club.
