Volleyball Canada has announced its roster for the Canadian B team program that will culminate this summer in an appearance in the 2017 Senior Pan American Cup in Gatenau, Quebec.
Canada’s A team will begin their World League quest in Serbia next weekend in a pool with Serbia, the United States, and Belgium. That tournament continues through the championship game on July 8th, at which point they’ll pass the national torch to the B team, who will represent the country in the annual Pan American Cup that Canada will host for the 3rd time this year in its 11-year history this summer.
While FIVB has not announced its formula for the 2018 World League, the tournament has served as a qualifier for the next year’s World League in recent summers – making it a still-significant tournament.
“We have a good mix of experienced National Team athletes and those newer to the program,” said men’s B team Head Coach Larry McKay.”These players are an important part of the development and growth of the National Team program and we’re looking forward to working with them this season.”
