Recording a career high in kills and solidifying a Conference USA Tournament MVP title? All in a day’s work for Rachel Anderson of Western Kentucky University.

Anderson was an integral part of a Western Kentucky team that achieved a perfect conference record — including a current 21-match win streak — and took the C-USA Championship for the third straight time on Saturday.

In a thrilling five-set championship match against Rice, Anderson dominated with 31 kills, hitting an impressive .580 on the night. She added five digs and two block assists.

Anderson is the first WKU player to reach 30 kills in a match since 2011. She’s 12th in the nation for hitting percentage, with an average of 41.1 percent.

Anderson was given tournament MVP honors for her power performance. Her teammates Alyssa Cavanaugh and Georgia O’Connell were also named to the C-USA Volleyball All-Tournament Team. Cavanaugh had 24 kills against Rice, and O’Connell registered 24 digs.
