Colorado outside hitter Alexa Smith is this week’s VolleyMob National Player of the Week after an outstanding all-around effort in wins over Xavier and No. 18 Colorado State.
The Colorado Springs, Colorado, native who was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, averaged 4.56 kills and 3.33 digs per set, while hitting at a .241 clip. The junior managed a 16-kill, 15-dig double-double against Xavier and racked up 25 kills and 15 digs, while hitting a .310 clip in the upset of the Rams. The win, which saw Colorado come back from a 2-0 deficit, was the team’s first in Moby Arena since 1995.
