2017 NORCECA MEN’S WORLD QUALIFIER

After falling earlier in the day in the semifinal round, Canada and Mexico face off with third place in the NORCECA Men’s Qualifier and a bid to the 2018 FIVB World Championships on the line.

Canada was swept earlier by Team USA, although they scored 20 or more points in all three sets. In the losing effort, Stephen Maar led the Canadians with 11 kills and 11 points while hitting .610. Before they were stopped in the final four, Canada was 2-0 and had won all six sets.

Mexico also put up 20 or more points in a three-set loss, as they fell to the Dominican Republic. Jorge Barajas had a strong performance with 15 points in just three games, although no other player logged more than seven points for the Mexican side. They’ll look to get back to when they were successful in group play as they went 3-0 with a trio of consecutive sweeps.

You can follow the match with live scoring courtesy of the FIVB as well as a live stream to view the match via USA Volleyball.
