LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce its 12th annual High School Senior All-America Team for boys’ volleyball. Only players in their high school senior season whose high school head coaches are AVCA members were eligible for nomination. This year’s selections featured the most nominations ever with 97 total athletes considered.
This year’s group of 20 student-athletes represent 17 high schools from across the country. La Jolla High School (La Jolla, CA) leads this year’s class with three honorees. Newport Harbor High School (Newport Beach, CA) is the only other high school to land multiple recipients (2). Ohio State University lands the most commits with four, while Pepperdine is second with three. Grand Canyon, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and UCLA each land a pair.
The AVCA Boys’ High School Senior All-America Committee consists of: Bill Schreier (Wheaton Warrenville South High School), Rhonda Low (Cathedral High School), Neiad Ammary (Liberty High School), Mike Fusare (Penfield High School), Mark Brubaker (La Costa Canyon High School), Bruce Honberger (Granite Bay High School), Michael Boehle (Loyola High School of Los Angeles), Matt Marrujo (Servite High School), Roger Peluso (Ransom Everglades School), and David Jones (La Jolla High School).
