The tournament will feature five days of play with some of the best beach volleyball players from around the world. The tournament will include a number of top Brazilian squads like Agatha Bednarczuk/Eduarda “Duda” Santos Lisboa to newly formed American duo April Ross and Alix Klineman on the women’s side. For the men, Poland’s Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak will highlight the side.
The World Tour this season will feature over 1,800 matches across more than 30 events. The prize money set to be allotted for the year has risen from $3.3 million to $7 million on the year. The first Major Series event of the 2018 calendar is set to begin in the United States at Fort Lauderdale from February 27 to March 4. The remaining five-star events will be in Gstaad from July 10-15 and Vienna from July 31 to August 5. It was also recently announced that Hamburg will repeat as the World Tour Finals host this season, the first location to be selected more than once for the event.
