Kyra Holt, a Class of 2016 Washington State University alumni who won AVCA All-America Honorable Mention Honors in her senior season, has just signed a contract with CV Fachadas Dimurol of the Spanish League, according to Spanish website Eldia.es. She is transferring out of Puerto Rico’s Carolina Gigantes, after the Puerto Rican domestic league got cancelled due to the many natural disasters that have hit the island (fellow American Gina Mancuso also transferred out of Puerto Rico this week).
The 22-year-old 6’1″ left-handed outside hitter addressed the Spanish media during her presentation:
I am very excited to have the opportunity to learn more about the Spanish league, of which I still do not know much. First, I want to help the team to be at the top, winning every game and giving my best, and, second, learn everything possible, among other things, about the Spanish culture
Dimurol is currently in second place of the Spanish League’s standings. Holt is expected to debut this Sunday. She took to Instagram to confirm the news:
