Rosamaria Montibeller, who has been a staple in Minas‘ offense for the last three seasons, has decided to leave the club. She took to her personal Instagram page to pen an emotional good-bye letter to fans and the team:
“Minas Tenis Clube, we reach the end of yet another season. It took me some time to write about it because there are so many feelings that I have to turn into words. We had 3 seasons of great dedication. Joys, tears, victories, defeats, many games, many workouts, personal changes and of course, smiles. This was the place where I found a second, third, fourth, or rather, several families. I can only thank the club, leaders, employees, members, fans and teammates for all these years and each day lived, and for all efforts so that we could just worry about giving our best on the court. My head and my heart are relieved to know that I gave my best to the team. Dedication was not lacking and that is what allows my mind rest on the pillow every night. I, as a person, am moved like this, not just the athlete part of me. I think my aries soul does not let me sleep with the doubt of not having tried. I prefer to err actively than being passive, ALWAYS. I leave with the feeling of accomplishment in a club that has all my respect and admiration. I know I was part of groups that marked the history Minas, and obviously the club helped me write a beautiful chapter of my short career. Fortunately, this is our life, full of change and new opportunities. I’ve now decided to go in search of other experiences and results. To all the Minas family I wish the same, my affection stays here and as in the photo, also a piece of my heart. Thank you!”
Rosamaria is a very young talent. At only 24 years old, she has been constantly called up for Brazil’s national team in the past few seasons. In 2015, she led Brazil’s U23 squad to a world title, being named the competition’s best opposite hitter along the way. Her destination for the 2018 season is not yet know, but speculations have it that she will sign with Superliga’s current champions Praia Clube, which doesn’t really make much sense, as Nicole Fawcett‘s contract extension with the club has left it loaded at both wing positions.
