With more fallout from the Dinamo Krasnodar financial situation, Russian outside hitter/opposite Natalia Krotkova has terminated her contract with the club and joined Dinamo Moscow instead.
Krotkova was a member of the Russian Junior National system through 2011, where she played at the FIVB Junior World Championships, and also participated in the 2016 European Olympic Qualifying for her home country.
She earned silver at the Club World Championships with her former club, but now will play with injury-struck Dinamo Moscow through the end of the 2017-2018 season.
“We have the whole season been over-extended, injuries have plagued us, and matches are becoming more serious,” Dimano Moscow CEO Vladimir Zinichev told Russia’ state-run r-sport news agency. “We have three peopleat outside hitter, even in the training process this causes problems. We have found a solution in the person of Natalia Krotkova. The contract signed up at the end of next season, it turns out that on one-and-a-half season.”
“Krotkova is very interesting. I think that she can easily fit into our team and help us. Yesterday, she arrived in the practice of our team. We were doing everything so we ensure that she can play for us on February 14. That was purely a technical question, and we have obtrain the agreement from Krasnodar to allow it,” he added.
In the first round after the transfer, Krasnodar sent their youth team and lost 3-0 to Yenisei Krasnoyarsk, who are playing under an acting coach. Krasnodar’s coach, Evgeny Lonin, was frustrated after the game, questioning why the team was sent for the game to play with such an inexperienced team.
The teams then played again in the Championship quarterfinals 1-3.
Krotkova and her new team, meanwhile, won 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-22) ahead of Metar Chelyabinski.
