Sunday’s men’s finals of the FIVB Rio Four Star Tournament will feature teams from Poland and Brazil. Bartosz Loziak and Piotr Kantor of Poland will take on Alison Cerutti and Bruno Schmidt of Brazil.
Second seeded Alison/Bruno topped Americans Theo Brunner and Casey Patterson 21-16, 21-14. Alison/Bruno are the reigning Olympic gold medalists and FIVB World Champions,
Brunner/Patterson were the second straight American duo to fall to the Brazilians, following Taylor Crabb and Jacob Gibb in the quarterfinals. Brunner/Paterson defeated Olympic bronze medalists Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen to advance to the semis.

No. 6 seed Kantor/Losiak defeated Olympic silver medalists Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo of Italy 21-19, 21-19. The Polish duo is looking to grab its first FIVB World Tour gold since a March 2016 victory at a grand slam event in Copacabana.
Losiak and Kantor made the semifinals after taking out Americans John Hyden and Ryan Doherty. Nicolai/Lupo earned their semifinal spot with a three-set win over Brazilans Alvaro Filho and Saymon Santos.
