Altena, Rupert, DeJager Named NAIA Players of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.Ema Altena of Dordt (Iowa) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Alyssa Rupert of Milligan (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA National Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week and Jamie De Jager of Dordt has been named the NAIA National Volleyball Setter of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. The trio was selected based on their performances from Oct. 1-7 and were chosen out of a pool of conference and Association of Independent Institution winners.

Attacker of the Week

Ema Altena, Dordt
6-0, SR, OH, Sioux Center, Iowa

  • Altena posted double-digit kills in all three matches she competed in last week. The outside hitter led the charge against No. 4 Viterbo (Wis.) with 19 kills. The Iowa native notched two double-doubles against Viterbo (19 kills, 10 digs) and St. Mary (Neb.) (13 kills, 11 digs).
