Netherlands (Men):
- Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen (#10 Seed)
- Christiaan Varenhorst and Maarten Van Garderen (#45 Seed)
The top Dutch pair of Brouwer/Meeuwsen are the lone team from the Netherlands to ever win at the Beach World Championships since its initiation in 1997, as they are back for more in 2017. Not only did the win the event in 2013, but behind a home crowd at The Hague in 2015, they were the runner-up in the tournament. Both podium-finishes represent the entire top-three placings for the country.
So far in the current season, the Brouwer/Meeuwsen pairing are ranked as the 10th best group in the men’s world rankings – a fitting rank as they are the 10-seed in the event. They started off their World Tour journey this season with a win at Xiamen and have been consistently in the top-10 on the year.
