St. John’s played in its program record 11th five-setter, outlasting Georgetown. Meanwhile Creighton’s senior class notched its 100th win, while the program broke a season-attendance record in a sweep of Butler. Xavier and X also picked up Saturday wins.

• Xavier piled up 14 blocks (to 6) in the four-set win over Providence, limiting the Friars to a .213 hitting effort. The Musketeers hit .237 for the match.
• Audrey Adams posted a career and match-high 16 kills, while hitting .444 and adding six blocks for Xavier. Jayda Carlton paced the team at the net with seven stuffs, including four solo efforts. Allison Impellizeri downed 16 kills on a .419 hitting effort to lead Providence.
• St. John’s set a program record for five setters with their 11th of 2018. The Red Storm previously had played 10 five setters in 2004. The Johnnies are 7-4 in tiebreak matches in 2018.
• The Red Storm and the Hoyas combined for 27 blocks in the match (15-12 St. John’s) and both struggled with hitting efficiency (.148 to .142 Georgetown).
• Alyssa Sinnette posted an 18-kill, 14-dig double-double and six blocks for Georgetown, but St. John’s countered with three double-digit kill tallies: Efrosini Alexakou (13), Rachele Rastelli (12) and Hanna Wagner (11).
• St. John’s cruised to a 7-3 lead in Set 5 with help from three Hoya miscues. Georgetown was within one three times, last at 13-12, before a hitting error and a Wagner kill clinched the Red Storm victory.
• Creighton secured its 10th straight win with the sweep of Butler, never trailing in the match. .
• The win marked the 100th for Creighton’s senior class (100-27), which moved to 35-0 at home against Big East foes in their careers.
• The crowd of 1,894 pushed Creighton to a season-record attendance mark of  30,716, besting the program’s 2015 mark of 29,905.
• The Bluejays served up a season-best 13 aces in the match, including at least one from seven different players and five from Madelyn Cole. Creighton also was the more efficient offensive team, outhitting the Bulldogs .439 to .013.
• Jaali Winters was the lone player with double-digit kills, notching 13 on a .545 hitting effort for Creighton.
• Villanova served up eight aces in an otherwise fairly even match to best Seton Hall 3-0.
• Clara Delaplane notched a match-high 13 kills to pace Villanova, while Amanda Pedersen-Henry added nine kills while hitting at a .409 clip.
• Cherise Hennigan was tops for Seton Hall with nine kills, while five other Pirates posted four or more putaways.
