The Hungarian Volleyball Federation has announced in its official website that current Hungarian League runner-ups Nyíregyházathe has signed Canadian national teamer Danielle Brisebois to its squad. The 23-year-old 5’11” outside hitter is transferring out of Finland and is set to undergo her sophomore pro season. She was a star player for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in college and has been a constant figure in Canada’s national team for the last few years, netting a participation at the 2016 FIVB Grand Prix.

Here is how her new coach László Hollósy reacted to the transfer:

“Thanks to my contacts in Finland, Daniella was in our sights for a long time. In the last six months, she performed very well with her team. We are curious and confident, as she will have many chances to display her talents with us.”

Daniella was likewise very excited:

“One of the reasons for choosing Nyíregyháza is the high expectations that they are facing, and their fans are wonderful.”

In addition to Brisebois, the club has also signed Ancsin Kitti, who will be making the switch from the sand to the hardwood:

“Many teams showed interest in me, and I felt I had to change and I could not miss this opportunity. I am looking forward to meeting personally with my new teammates and coaches, and I hope that we will achieve the greatest success we can on both domestic and international grounds.”
