After winning the NCAA Division III Tournament, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps bolstered their way up to the #1 position from #6 in the final poll of the year. The runners-up Wittenberg moved up one spot to #2 following the three-set loss in the finals.
Calvin lost to Wittenberg in the semifinals to fall back to #3 from #2 while Colorado College fell to #4 from #1. The final poll had a ton of changes, that includes Emory in the top five at #5 from #7 while Johnson & Wales move up to #6 and Gustavus Adolphus to #7.
The biggest jump in the final rankings was Ithaca to #8 following their tremendous run in the tournament after not being ranked in the previous ranking. Swarthmore (#18) and Pacific Lutheran (#22) also joined the final ranking following their tournament performances.
