After an amazing year and a film crew following them around for two year, 2016 Rio Olympic champions Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhort of Germany have a documentary made about their journey. The documentary is 85-minutes long, entitled “Ludwig/Walkenhorst – Road to Gold.”

The film was guided by Guido Weihermuller, who strongly believed in the pair began filming them two years ago, on their road to the Olympic Games. The camera crew followed them around, capturing the German pair’s rise to the top of the Rio Olympic Games. The documentary covers the build-up and conclusion of their incredible campaign to the Olympics.

Ludwig/Walkenhorst made history at the Olympics, as the first European women’s pair to win gold at the Olympic beach volleyball tournament in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

The film was released at the beginning of December on DVD and Blu-ray, while a digital version was made available shortly after. A shorter version of the documentary was aired on German television back in October.
