Hélia Souza (Fofão) is certainly one of Brazil’s biggest gems to have ever graced volleyball courts all over the world. The legendary setter, who served Brazil’s NT from 1991 to 2008 with over 340 caps, played in five consecutive Olympic games, winning gold in 2008.
Fofão won frequently, at every level she played at. In all, the quiet genius and a silent leader, who never really cared for the spotlight and the media in throughout her career, retired with 6 FIVB Grand Prix titles, 6 Brazilian Superliga golds, 2 Italian A1 titles, 1 Turkish Championship, and 1 CEV Champions League title, to go along with countless MVP and best setter awards.
To commemorate her career, she was honored with a documentary inspired in her biography “Touch of Genius,” which trailer was first screened to the public during International Women’s Day commemorations in Brazil.
