Duke’s Shelton, Louisville’s McHenry Earn Final ACC Player of the Week Nod

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Andie Shelton and Louisville’s Melanie McHenry have been named ACC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week, and NC State’s Jade Parchment has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.

Shelton helped Duke to a pair of five-set wins to close out the regular season, earning victories against Notre Dame and Miami. The graduate setter/right side hitter from Stockton, California, had double-digit kills and hit above .370 in both matches while also contributed at least seven digs and five blocks in both as well. Shelton picked up her sixth triple-double of the season Friday against Miami with 17 kills, 27 assists and 11 digs to become the only player in NCAA DI with six triples-doubles this season.

McHenry led Louisville to a sweep of Georgia Tech in the regular season finale. The junior outside hitter from Speedway, Indiana, racked up 20 kills on a .462 hitting percentage in the match. McHenry also added four digs, a block and averaged 6.66 kills per set in the match.

Parchment shined in NC State’s matches against Syracuse and Florida State. The rookie outside hitter from Kensington, Maryland, recorded 19 kills in both matches, with a total hitting percentage of .277. Parchment averaged 5.43 kills per set and tallied 18 total digs on the weekend.
