2017 CEV EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS – WOMEN

The Netherlands is set and ready to go for the 2017 Women’s European Championships that will take place in both Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The team’s head coach Jamie Morrison is confident in his team, saying that they had some great prep time leading up to the competition. The Dutch had to play in a qualification tournament recently to make it to the final round. There they played in five matches that gave them more time on the court and more time playing under the pressures that the tournament will call for. Additionally, the Dutch partook in four friendly matches against Poland and Germany to prepare them.

The team will use a balanced offense at the championship that will include Celeste Plak, Anne Buijs and Robin De Kruijf. All three of these players were huge contributors over the summer for the Dutch.

The Dutch arrived in Ganja, Azerbaijan and will take on Belgium in their first match of the competition followed by Serbia and the Czech Republic before the playoff matches begin.
