Turkish club Sarıyer Belediyespor has announced in its twitter the signing of former University of Texas – San Antonio star Dajana Boskovic as the newest addition to its roster. Transferring out of Poland’s PTPS Pila and ready to start her sophomore pro season, the 24-year-old 6’1″ Serbian national was a four-time All Conference-USA player and as a sophomore in 2014 was named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-America award winner. As a senior in 2016, she started 23 matches for the Road Runners and averaged 5.25 points/set.

Pila finished the 2017/18 season with a very respectable 16-10 record, good enough for 5th place, and just a single spot out of playoff contention. Boskovic performed well, and received many offers to remain in Poland, but ultimately choose Turkey instead. Family may have weighted on her decision, as her move to Turkey means that for the first time in a long while, she’ll play in the same city as her very famous younger sister Tijana Boskovic, who is one of the leading players in the world. Among the international accolades for the young Tijana are a 2017 EuroVolley gold medal, a 2016 Olympic silver medal, and an MVP award at the 2016 FIVB Club World Championships with her club Eczacibasi VitrA.
