University of Philippines standout Isa Molde and Adamson team captain  Paolo Pablico were given the women’s and men’s Most Valuable Player awards in their respective Premier Volleyball League Collegiate divisions following the completion of the season.

On top of being named both the preliminary and finals MVP, Molde was also named the Best Outside Spiker, finishing as second ranked server in the conference and the fourth ranked spiker in the conference. Molde averaged 0.48 aces per set and had a 30.25 per cent success rate while spiking.

Molde’s talents led her team to its first ever PVL Collegiate Championship victory as the UP Lady Maroons defeated the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws on September 12th to end a 36-year title drought.

Despite her prowess, Molde credited her teammates saying [translated from Filipino], “I can not get it without my teammates because I’m not just working for it…I’ll dedicate it [MVP title] to my teammates and coaching staff.”

Along with his conference MVP title Pablico was also awarded as the 2nd Best Outside Spiker. Pablico was ranked fourth with 15.1 average points per set and ranked eighth in spiking with a success rate of 41.35%.

Adamson finished fourth overall this year. Given his teams’ placing, Pablico was surprised to win MVP thinking that it would go to a player from one of the teams that competed in the championship final.
