Modena Volley of the Italian SuperLega released an updated logo this morning on Twitter and Youtube in a video.

Previously Modena’s logo looked like this.

The updated look of the M and V form a shield shape, very similar to the scudetto patch for the Italian champions. Below is a picture from the 2015-2016 season.

Modena during the 2016-2017 season, finished 4th in the SuperLega regular season, and lost in the semifinals to the eventual champions Cucine Lube Civitanova. Modena did win the Supercoppa as a highlight of their 2016-2017 campaign. The team saw a 12% increase in attendance last season, which set a new club record and led the league with 104,271 (average of 4,171 per game).

Maybe the new shield look is a foreshadowing of their results in 2017-2018.
