Johan Eriksson Comes Out Of Retirement To Play For Linköping VC

Current Sweedish champions Linköping VC has announced in its official Instagram page that former Sweden national team libero Johan Eriksson has come out of retirement and agreed to a contract with the team. Johan’s retirement lasted only half a season:

According to Elitserienvolleyboll.se, Johan stated that the Linköping’s roster, which is full of teammates from Sweden’s national team, was the biggest motivator for his signing:

I have chosen Linköping VC because the city and the club create good conditions for exercising, playing and living.. The team is full of national team players, with league finals experience.

Linköping’s general management was likewise excited about the signing:

Johan is any team’s wish. He is a national teamer and plays with lot of energy, with good passing and defense – Bo Kindgren, Chairman

The 30-year-old Johan spent his last four season in the Swedish league with clubs Vingakers and Falkenber. With the national team, he won an bronze medal in the 2017 European League last July.

Linköping is currently in 2nd place of the Swedish League’s standings, with a 13-1 record.
