After a strong four-set victory over #2 ranked UCLA, #1 Long Beach State’s TJ DeFalco earns this week’s AVCA Division I-II Player of the Week honors.
The 49ers had just one match this week against the Bruins in a top-2 showdown, where DeFalco put down 4.25 kills per set on a .419 hitting clip to down their opponent. Additionally, DeFalco picked up 3.00 digs per set along with 1.00 blocks per set. The performance was good for DeFalco’s 11th career double-double with 17 kills and 12 digs along with 5 blocks.
LBSU has remained unbeaten this season with a 13-0 record and is set for a rematch over UCLA on Wednesday on the road.
DeFalco is the 29th player in Long Beach State history to earn the Player of the Week honor. This is DeFalco’s third overall AVCA Player of the Week accolade, with his first coming on January 19, 2016, and his most recent on March 28, 2017.
