After what seemed like a to-be perfect season for the Buckeyes, they were finally taken down by #5 UC Irvine in a three set sweep, putting Ohio State at #2 in this weeks poll.

Replacing the Buckeyes as the new #1 is Long Beach State who earned 13 first place votes to Ohio State’s 11. Over the weekend, Long Beach State hosted George Mason and #9 Pepperdine for the Asics Tournament, taking down both teams in straight sets for the 12th consecutive victory.

After taking down the team that hadn’t lost an NCAA contest in 400 days, UC Irvine cracked the top-five once again, replacing Lewis who dropped two positions to #7. Lewis falls to #7 after being upset by then-#14 USC, who slides up two spots to #12 in this weeks poll. UCLA is finally getting their groove back, moving up to #6 this week after taking down Lewis and Harvard.

The biggest change of the week came in a loss of ranking for CSUN who fell three spots to #14 after unranked George Mason and #15 UC Santa Barbara swept them this weekend.
