Former Florida State outside hitter Bozena Culo is transferring to Loyola Marymount for the 2018 season. A sophomore in 2017, Culo will be a junior with two years left of play next season.

Standing at 6’2″, Culo came to Tallahassee from Croatia. In 2016 as a freshman, she racked up 1.30 digs per set and 13 aces – both second on a team that made it to the Sweet 16. In year two as a sophomore, she knocked down 68 kills to go with 280 digs (2.57 per set) and nine aces.

Culo was also on the Florida State beach roster, so it would make sense that she joins the Loyola Marymount beach squad as well. The Lions went 15-14 last season in the sand.

It’s unclear whether Culo will be immediately eligible, although transferring out of conference should make her ready to play in 2018. What is clear is that she should give the Lions another option with size and skill.

Her addition would be huge for Loyola Marymount after a 16-13 season where they only had one senior and should be at the top half of the West Coast Conference in 2018.
