2017 Smart Beach Tour – Münster

  • May 5-7, 2017
  • Münster, Germany at Schlossplatz

The beginning of the Smart Beach Tour will begin with a three-day event in Münster, Germany with the best German beach volleyball players. Münster is just one of eight stops on the Smart Beach Tour this summer, with the tour concluding at Timmendorfer Strand from August 31 to September 3.

The tournament is riddled with Olympians, World Champions, and DM titles. Making their return as a pair to the sand are Olympic gold medalists Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst. Over the winter, Ludwig was out of competition after having surgery on her shoulder. The pair has recently been in California training with Kerri Walsh Jennings/April Ross and Barbora Hermannova/Marketa Slukova.

The event will take place on the Schlossplatz where the “Technician Arena” will be built and able to hold up to 1,500 spectators – along with three other game courts. The event is free to the public on all days.

The men’s and women’s qualification rounds will begin on May 5 and 1 PM with the main draw to occur the remaining two days.

With the Smart Tour, there are four smart super cups, four smart beach cups, and the German smart beach volleyball championship.
