Missouri Has Four New High School State Champions

Missouri High School State Tournament Finals

Missouri has concluded their high school volleyball season with the ending of the state tournament with four teams taking home the title in their respective divisions this last Saturday. Here are the results:

Class 1

Northland Christian beat New Haven 2-0 (25/21 25/18) for their second state title in two years. Northwest Missouri State University bound Rachel Sturdevant had 12 points for the winning side. Emma Engelbrech, who will attend Lindenwood University in St. Charles, had nine points in the losing effort.

Class 2

St Pius X (Festus) beat Strafford 2-1 (23/25 25/8 25/22) behind Emma Grimshaw’s 16.5 points for their second straight state title. Missouri State bound Chloe Rear had 19.5 points in the losing effort.

Class 3

Helias Catholic beat Lutheran South 2-1 (25/17 25/23 25/15) for their second state title in 4 years (they also won the title in 2014-2015). Regan Brun’s 13.5 points for the winning side. Emma Lind had 14.5 points in the losing effort.

Class 4

St. Joseph’s Academy beat Ozark 2-0 (25/20 25/13) behind Morgan Smith’s 11.5 points. In doing so, they prevented Lafayette (Wildwood), who they knocked out in the round of 8, from winning its seventh straight state title. Macey Putt, who recently commited to Arkansas States University, had 7 points in the losing effort.
