A convincing third-set win and strong fourth set gave NC State the victory.

Last Time Versus Georgia Tech
Saturday’s matchup will be the second time NC State and Georgia Tech have met this season, as the Wolfpack won the first meeting in Atlanta, 3-1, on Sept. 29. The Wolfpack won the first two sets in that matchup, but could not complete the sweep as the Yellow Jackets took the third set to force a fourth set.

NC State was strong in the fourth set to earn a 25-20 set win to clinch the match, 3-1. Brown tallied 18 kills in that contest to lead the Wolfpack, while Bailey contributed 15.

Scouting Georgia Tech
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets own a 12-14 record this season and a 7-8 mark in ACC matches. Tech dropped a hard fought five-set match at UNC-Chapel Hill in its last outing on Thursday night.

NC State’s win against Georgia Tech earlier this season snapped a streak of three consecutive losses versus the Jackets. It was also the first time the Wolfpack has won in Atlanta since 2011.

Senior outside hitter Gabriela Stavnetchei leads the ACC with 397 kills, averaging 4.14 kills per set. At setter, Gabby Benda has dished out 8.09 assists per set and libero Sam Knapp headlines the defense with 3.46 digs per set.

Tech owns a team attacking percentage of .221, while its opponents have compiled a .235 clip.

Senior Bios

Perry Ramsey

Perry made an immediate impact on the NC State volleyball program from the time she stepped on campus as a freshman. She started 22 matches in her rookie campaign and tallied 211 kills, the third most on the team.

She was also named to the UGA Invitational All-Tournament team as a freshman after putting down 32 kills on the weekend.

As a sophomore, Ramsey was one of only two players to play in all 119 of the team’s sets that season. She recorded 300 kills in 2015, tying her career high with 17 against Florida State.

Ramsey has been limited due to injury in her last two seasons, but collected 141 kills last season as a junior. She was also named to the TCU Invitational All-Tournament Team on opening weekend.

For her career, Ramsey owns more than 650 kills and is on the verge of eclipsing 500 career digs.

After graduating with her degree in Political Science, Ramsey plans to attend Law School.

Emily Harris

Emily has been a mainstay in the Wolfpack lineup since joining the program as a freshman in 2014. She has played in more than 300 sets during her career and seen action in more than 100 matches.

Harris has turned in a fantastic senior season, serving as the Wolfpack’s primary libero. She leads the team with 3.12 digs per set for a total of 215 digs on the year. The senior recorded a career-best 26 digs in NC State’s 3-2 victory against Notre Dame, tied for the most by any player on the team this season.

Earlier this year, Harris reached 500 career digs in NC State’s 3-1 win against Virginia Tech. Heading into Saturday’s match, she owns 595 career digs.

Additionally, Emily is a very strong server with 37 career aces.

After graduating with her degree in information technology in December, Harris plans to do consulting work or work for a technology company.

Kaitlyn Kearney

Kaitlyn has enjoyed a stellar career at NC State, as she has appeared in more than 440 sets and played in nearly 120 matches for her career.

Kearney recently broke the all-time program record for career blocks and owns the most by an active player in the ACC and seventh most in the NCAA. The senior has led NC State and ranked among the top of the conference each year in blocks.

She also recently surpassed 1,000 career kills to become one of four active players with at least 1,000 kills and 500 blocks and the only player from the ACC to accomplish the feat.

Kearney also owns the program record for highest attacking percentage in a single match, as she tallied 16 kills on 18 attempts during her sophomore campaign to compile an .889 clip.

This season, Kearney owns a .357 attacking percentage which is the best on the team and third highest in the ACC. She was named to the Michigan All-Tournament Team during the non-conference portion of the schedule and recently garnered ACC Player of the Week honors.

In 2014, she was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team after collecting ACC Freshman of the Week honors three times during the season.

After graduating with her degree in marketing, Kearney plans to pursue a career in marketing or go into medical sales.

Bree Bailey

Bailey transferred into the NC State volleyball program earlier this spring after spending her first three seasons at Arizona State.

She has fit perfectly into the Wolfpack’s offense, as she is second on the team in kills with 286. Bailey matched her career-high with 24 kills in NC State’s thrilling five-set victory at Florida State a few weeks ago

Bree surpassed 1,000 career kills in NC State’s match at Michigan to become just the 12th player in program history to reach the mark and only the fourth active player among the ACC to achieve the milestone.

Prior to attending NC State, Bailey was named to the Pac-12 Volleyball All-Star Team that traveled to China to compete. She was also a Pac-12 All-Conference Team and All-Academic selection as a junior at Arizona State.

Earlier this season, Julia reached 1,000 career kills in NC State’s 3-0 sweep against LIU Brooklyn. When she accomplished the feat, she was one of three players in the ACC with at least 1,000 career kills.

She took over as the rally-scoring era program record holder for career kills with her 1,179th at Miami a couple weeks ago. Brown now owns the third-most kills by an active player in the ACC.

The senior outside hitter enjoyed a breakout junior season under head coach Linda Hampton-Keith and her staff as Brown charted 489 kills to break the rally-scoring era program record for kills in a single season and tally the third most in the conference.

Additionally, Brown set the rally-scoring era program record for kills in a single match with 31 in a five-set win against Syracuse last season, which was the most in a single match by a player in the ACC.

Following the season, Brown was named First Team All-ACC and was an AVCA All-East Region Team selection.

Brown is one of 30 candidates, and the only from the ACC, for the Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes student-athletes for their contributions in the community, classroom, character and competition.

After graduating with her degree in business administration, Brown hopes to pursue a professional volleyball career.
