Beginning at the first Swatch Beach Volleyball Major Series event in Fort Lauderdale, there will be no less than three new men’s pairs.
After four seasons of success, Casey Patterson and Jake Gibbs have parted ways, teaming up with new partners.
Gibbs has joined forces with Hawaii’s Taylor Crabb. Last season, Crabb was a rising star on the sand, earning three ninth-place finishes in four FIVB tournaments.
Patterson is taking up partner Theo Brunner, the former partner of Nick Lucena. In Brunner’s high point of last season, he and partner Billy Allen took ninth place at the Long Beach Grand Slam. This event being one of the high points to their tour.
Trevor Crabb is moving on from partnering with his brother Taylor Crabb, to legendary Sean Rosenthal. Rosenthal is former teammate to Phil Dalhausser, who had a great 2014 season, taking five medals from 10 events, including three gold.
There will be many familiar faces competing this season, including Dalhausser and Lucena, looking to take the gold they were so close to obtaining in the 2015 Swatch World Tour Finals.
These newly formed pairs have just two months to prepare before the Fort Lauderdale event which takes place on February 7-12.
