For the third consecutive week, an Ohio State Buckeye has been named the MIVA’s Offensive Player of the Week as Maxime Hervoir picks up the latest accolade on Tuesday (Apr. 3). Hervoir lifted OSU to a pair of Top-10 triumphs over Loyola Chicago and Lewis to push the Buckeyes atop the conference standings with one week to go in the regular season. This marks Hervoir’s second MIVA weekly distinction this season (also on March 6).

Hervoir began with a bang, terrorizing No. 6 Loyola Chicago for 24 kills at a .463 attacking rate on Thursday (March 29). He added four block assists against the Ramblers for a total of 26 points. He then came back two nights later and delivered 13 kills and a .435 hitting percentage in Ohio State’s sweep over No. 10 Lewis. For the week, Hervoir averaged 5.29 kills per set and attacked .453 (37-8-64).

His offensive onslaught earned him the MIVA distinction, but Hervoir was a big factor defensively as well. The outside hitter registered 2.00 digs per set and committed zero errors in 41 service-receptions.

Four different Buckeyes have received a total of six weekly conference honors this season:
Jake Hanes (Offensive; Jan. 30)
Maxime Hervoir (Offensive; March 6, April 3)
Aaron Samarin (Defensive; March 6)
Nicolas Szerszen (Offensive; March 20, March 27)
