The Pittsburgh Panthers have two more recruits lined up for their 2018 class as Sabrina Starks and Chandler Gorman have announced their verbal commitments to the school. Starks is a 6-3 middle blocker from Platteview High School in Springfield, Nebraska, while Gorman is a 6-3 middle blocker/right side hitter from Stratford High School in Houston.
Gorman was a first team all-district selection in 2016 after leading her team in kills (200) and blocks (67), while hitting at a .243 clip and adding 11 aces. Stratford’s Offensive MVP averaged 1.98 kills per set and put up double-digit kill tallies three times, including a season-best 13 twice. Gorman also excels in the classroom, having earned first team academic all-district honors in 2015 and 2016. Gorman plays for the Houston Skyline Club.

Starks averaged 3.20 kills per set on a .357 hitting percentage, while registering 1.80 blocks and 1.30 digs per set as a junior en route to honorable mention all-state honors. She led her team to the district title and on to its first Nebraska Class B state tournament berth since 2000. As a sophomore, she managed 1.80 kills per set, a .316 hitting percentage and 1.0 blocks per set. Starks also plays basketball, earning honorable mention All-Nebraska and all-area coaches honorable mention honors in 2017.
