GREENSBORO, N.C. – Pitt’s Nika Markovic has been named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week, and Louisville’s Emily Scott has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Markovic shined for the No. 8 Panthers in wins over Syracuse and Boston College. The junior right side hitter from Braslovce, Slovenia, averaged 4.00 kills, 1.57 digs and .71 blocks with a .423 hitting percentage on the weekend. Markovic posted a season-high 18 kills in a 3-1 over the Orange and hit a season-best clip of .469 in the match.

Scott was key in the No. 25 Cardinals’ sweeps of Duke and Wake Forest. The rookie middle blocker from Appleton, Wisconsin, averaged 2.50 kills per set while posting a hitting percentage of .357 and averaged 0.833 blocks per set.
