Playoffs 6 Determined For Women’s Champions League

The 2018 CEV Women’s Champions League is coming to the final stages of the competition as the Playoffs 6 has been determined after a gruesome fourth round of play. Escaping the fourth round of the tournament are:

  • CS Volei Alba Blaj
  • Igor Gorgonzola Novara
  • Dinamo Kazan
  • VakifBank Istanbul
  • Imoco Volley Conegliano
  • Volero Zurich
  • Galatasaray SK Istanbul *to replace the Final Four organizer

Winning their pools were CS Volei, Novara, Dinamo Kazan and VakifBank while Imoco and Volero Zurich advance as the top second-place finishers in the competition.

Both Dinamo Kazan and VakifBank won their respective pools with 6-0 marks while CS Volei and Novara each dropped one match in pool play action. The winner of Pool B, Novara, took the top spot in the pool by just one point as they and Imoco each posted a 5-1 record in pool play – losing to each other throughout.

The drawing of lots for the Playoffs 6 will take place this Friday.

The Champions League features the top club teams from around Europe. Teams that win certain competitions or their nations league earn an invite to the tournament where they are tested by the best of the best.
