Michal Zurek is currently completing his 4th season with AZS Olsztyn, and is set to undergo two more, as the team has officially announced in its website that it has extended his contract through 2020. Both parties were equally thrilled with the news:

I sat at the table with a I trust, that I know values my work, commitment, and how much I care for good volleyball in Olsztyn. During the negotiations, I did not have a moment of doubt, which is why we reached an agreement very quickly.” – Michal
“Michal is very happy with the possibility of playing in Indykpol AZS Olsztyn again. In my opinion, Michał deserves that Vital Heynen, the coach of the Polish national team, appoint him to the squad. I hope that it will happen. We are thinking about further building the team for the new season, but at this point the fight for promotion to the play-off phase is more important to us.” – Tomasz Jankowski, Olsztyn’s president
Zurek, who is now 29 years old, has played all over Poland, and is quickly becoming one of his country’s premier players at the libero position. AZS Olsztyn currently sits in 7th place of PlusLiga’s standings with a 15-11 record.
