Polish captain Marcin Mozdzonek is on the shelf for now with a thigh injury, which reportedly needs surgery.
Mozdzonek was injured while playing for his Asseco Resovia side against AZS Olsztyn on March 3 in the 23rd Round of Plus Liga play and his return date is unknown with a prognosis of several months being floated around.
Asseco has struggled to keep middles this season, losing Bartholomew Lemanski due to a foot injury earlier in the season. The team replaced him Lemanski with French national team member Barthelemy Chinenyeze on a medical transfer.
League regulations will prevent Asseco from obtaining a medical replacement for Mozdzonek as the transfer window has closed and they are not allowed to make a second functional transfer.
Mozdzonek, a two-time Olympian who has been with the national team since 2007, is in his third season with Asseco after stints with six other clubs since 2001.

Asseco Resovia, which has won seven Polish national championships, the last in 2015, is in the midst of CEV Cup and Liga Siatkowski play. The team is currently in fifth place in Liga play at 15-10 with 45 points.
