Polish club MKS Będzin has just announced in its official webpage the signing of Slovenian national teamer Jan Klobucar. The 6’5″ 24 year old opposite hitter is making the switch to Poland’s PlusLiga after spending the last two seasons with German Club United Volleys Rhein-Main.
Klobucar has enjoyed a successful career in his home-country of Slovenia, winning its domestic league for four straight years (2011-2015) with ACH Volley Ljubljana, and winning the 2015 European league with the Slovenian national team. In Bedzin, he will be joining a team that fell in the Round of 16 of last season’s PlusLiga and this season is currently in 11th place in the standings through its first 9 games.
According to the team, the transfer was made in an attempt to better the team’s receiving line, thus facilitating the play of setters Łukasz Kozub and USA’s Jonah Seif.
