Week seven of the Russian Super League is in the books, and once again it is Zenit-Kazan who leads the way as they have yet to lose a match. Nova and Ural Mountains picked up big wins to improve their standing within the top five of the league.
Team of the Week: Dynamo Moscow
Dynamo Moscow entered their match against Gazprom-Yugra as a team going through some turmoil. They played the match without middle blocker Kevin Le Roux who has been shut down indefinitely due to a back injury and sent back to France. They also just recently parted ways with head coach Yuri Marichev. Facing a two sets to one deficit was just another hurdle that they needed to clear as they were able to pull out a five set victory. Set scores were 22-25, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 15-13.
Player of the Week: Andrey Titic
Andrey Titic collected 20 points four blocks as Ural Mountains took down a four set match over St. Petersburg. Set scores were 25-19, 27-25, 19-25, 25-20. With the win, Ural Mountains has moved into fourth place in the Russian Super League.
