Russian Player Nikolay Pavlov Undergoes Knee Surgery In Germany

Captain of Russian volleyball team Lokomotiv Nobosibirsk, Nikolay Pavlov, underwent knee surgery two days ago at the Linik und Hotel St. Wolfgang in Germany.

The outside hitter posted a photo to his Instagram page showing himself in the hospital bed after getting out of surgery. In the second photo you can see his knee with medical equipment attached. Pavlov captioned the photo as, “have a great day everyone!”

Pavlov almost played for Russia at the recent 2018 FIVB World Championships as a replacement for injured payer Pavel Kruglov, however Kruglov managed to recover in time for the tournament leaving Pavlov off the team.

Pavlov has been playing with Lokomotiv Nobosibirsk since 2016 after previously playing for the team before from 2007-2011. While playing for them the first time he was named the Best Scorer at the 2010 Cup of Russia as well as the Most valuable Player.

Lokomotiv has played their first game of the Russian League so far defeating Surgut region 3-0. Their next game will be agains Dinamo-Lo on October 21st. It’s uncertain when Pavlov will be able to return to competition.
