Russian Volleyball Team Dinamo Karsnodar Not Paying Their Players

Professional Russian volleyball club Dinamo Karsnodar reportedly did not pay their players their previously agreed on salaries for the last seven months which spans over both this season and last.

According to news sources, players on the team are planning drastic measures in order to protest the lack of payment from the club. Their are plans that players will be boycotting upcoming matches. According to news sources, some players even went on to sue their employers.

Ekaterina Krivets and Dariya Talysheva who both played on Kranodar last season told R Sport that they won a lawsuit against the club after they weren’t paid for three-months, however still haven’t received the financial compensation.

Both Talysheva and Krivets are not on the roster for the 2016-17 team.

The professional women’s volleyball team has been around 1945 and plays in the women’s super league, which is the top women’s volleyball league in Russia.

Last season the team managed to come away with a third place finish. Dinamo Moscow ended up winning the tournament while Uralochka NTMK Yekaterinburg finished second in the gold medal game. Krasnodar won the bronze medal game in order to get their third place finish.

This season they’re currently sitting in fourth overall. Their next game will be against District-Odintsovo on February 3. There has been no mention on the teams website of canceling the game due to players from the team boycotting the matches.
