GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke’s Andie Shelton has been named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week, and Solei Thomas of Clemson and Mariana Brambilla of Georgia Tech earned Co-Freshmen of the Week nods.
Shelton received 2018 Tiger Classic MVP honors after leading Duke to an undefeated weekend with three wins. The graduate student setter and right side hitter from Stockton, California, recorded a triple-double against South Florida with 11 kills, 27 assists and 15 digs, and the first Duke triple-double since 2006. Shelton added two double-doubles, recorded double digit kills twice and hit over .300 twice while leading the team with seven service aces on the weekend.

Thomas was named MVP of the Appalachian Invitational after the Tigers posted three wins on the weekend. The rookie outside/right side hitter from Detroit, Michigan, averaged 3.85 kills per set and recorded a team season-best 20 kills in a 3-2 win over Appalachian State. Thomas hit at least .351 and posted double-digit kills in all three matches to go with her five total blocks.

Brambilla earned Hyatt Regency Tournament MVP honors after leading the Yellow Jackets to an undefeated weekend with four wins. The rookie outside hitter from Porto Alegre, Brazil, led Georgia Tech in kills in all four matches, including a career-best 19 kills against South Alabama. Brambilla recorded two double-doubles in the tournament, racking up 65 total kills and 47 total digs.
