Statistically Speaking: A Look at the NCAA Stat Leaders After Week 9

Hannah Hill of Weber State is the most efficient hitter nationally for the second straight week, boasting a .458 effort.

Cincinnati’s Jordan Thompson continued her reign atop the national kills (6.14) and points per set (6.81) listings for the eighth week, since taking over the lead in both categories on Week 2.

FAU’s Ivone Martinez regained the national lead in assists per set (12.58), bumping Stanford’s Jenna Gray to second place (12.55).

UNLV’s Mariena Hayden has served up 0.90 aces per set to lead all servers, marking her sixth straight week atop the category.

Defensively, Bowling Green’s Kallie Seimet boasts the highest average in digs (6.63) for the fifth straight week. VCU’s Jasmin Sneed is the new leader in blocks per set (1.76), ending Wyoming’s Reed Copeland‘s four-week reign atop the category.

Davidson’s Mason Rooney has been the top triple threat nationally, boasting five triple-doubles. Five players have turned in four triple dips: Dayton’s Brooke Westbeld, FIU’s Margherita Bianchin, IUPUI’s Maggie Gibson, Central Connecticut State’s Madelyn Kaprelyn and Hawaii’s Norene Iosia.

As one of two undefeated teams left nationally alongside Pittsburgh, No. 1 BYU leads the nation in hitting efficiency with a .328 effort, while also ranking third in opponent hitting percentage at .136.

No. 8 Pittsburgh (22-0) ranks third in hitting percentage (.300).

No. 2 Stanford meanwhile, leads the nation in blocks per set (3.24) and ranks second in hitting percentage (.312), kills per set (15.15) and assists per set (14.20)

Florida Atlantic is tops in kills (15.64) and assists per set (14.80).

Denver ranks first in aces per set (2.06) for the second straight week, while UNLV is second (2.02) behind Hayden’s ace tally.

Defensively, Northern Kentucky is No. 1 in digs per set (20.12), while Seimet’s BGSU squad is second at 19.25.

Florida Gulf Coast has held opponents to just a .132 hitting effort on the year, leading the way nationally.
