A few days ago, Natália Zilio posted a message on her personal Instagram page that was interpreted by Turkish media portals as a goodbye from Fenerbahce:
“A few days ago, one more season has finished!! It was nothing like I expected.. unfortunately I couldn’t help the team the way I wanted. But sports sometimes is like this. I truly believe this kind of things happen to teach us something good.
I just wanted to say thank you for all the people who supported me during this season, specially my teammates! I will miss you all girls ❤ And thank you so much Fenerbahçe for this two years, it was an amazing experience to be part of this great club!! And I’ll always remember this special city and country who makes me fell like home! I’m not sure about my future, but I hope to see you all soon!!”
They were right in their guess, as Melhordovolei.com.br has just announced that the Olympic gold medalist has reached an agreement with Brazilian club Camponesa/Minas. Together with Natália, the team also announced Brazilian national teamer Gabriela Guimarães, transferring out of SESC/RJ, for next season. This means that Minas’ squad will have in its roster the two starting outside hitters of Brazil’s powerful national team.
Both players cited that Minas’ berth in FIVB’s 2018 Club WCH played a key role in their decision. With arguably one the best attacking duos in the world, Minas is now one of the favorites for the world title.
