The European Championships podium will be filled with new faces on the women’s side, meanwhile the defending silver and bronze medalists on the men’s side are still in play.

The opening round of pool play at the Gstaad Major was ripe with upsets as four of the top eight seeds fell. Meanwhile, eight teams went on to earn pool titles, including Americans Taylor Crabb/Jake Gibb.
Barbora Hermannova/Marketa Slukova gave the home crowd plenty to cheer about, claiming the Ostrava Four Star title in the Czech Republic. Spain’s Pablo Herrera/Adrian Gavira earned gold with a tiebreak win over Poland’s Piotr Kantor/Bartosz Losiak.
The semifinals are set for the Ostrava Four Star and the home crowd with have one team to cheer for on both the men’s and women’s sides in Ondrej Perusic/David Schweiner and Barbora Hermannova/Marketa Slukova.
The table is set for Saturday’s Round of 16 with pool play and the first elimination round in the books for both genders, with eight of the Top 10 men’s seeds and nine of the Top 10 women’s moving on.
All nine players, including Latvia’s Alexandrs Samoilovs/Janis Smedins and Spain’s Pablo Herrara/Adrian Gavira, will be in action and representing p1440 at the FIVB Ostrava Four-Star event in the Czech Republic from June 20-24.
