The Big 12 Conference handed out its first awards of the league season on Monday, tabbing Baylor’s Yossiana Pressley as Offensive Player of the Week, Kansas’ Zoe Hill as Defensive Player of the Week and Texas Tech’s Brooke Kanas as Rookie of the Week.
It was a big day in the Big 12. Texas Tech defeated West Virginia, 3-1, for its first 2-0 start in the Big 12 since 2000, Kansas earned its 7th consecutive win over TCU and Baylor sophomore Yossiana Pressley had a record-breaking day.
The Top 25 matchup between 6th-ranked Texas and 23rd-ranked Kansas State was all that and then some, as it took 5 sets for the Longhorns to earn the victory on the road. The surprise of the night came in Waco, Texas, as Texas Tech knocked off 12th-ranked Baylor for its first ranked win since 2012.
