The No. 6 Pitt volleyball team (17-0, 6-0 ACC) will complete a five-match homestand by hosting North Dakota (12-10, 4-2 Summit) Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House.
8th-ranked Pittsburgh and Louisville remain at the top of ACC standings with 6-0 marks following week 6 of NCAA volleyball action. Miami, Duke, Syracuse, Clemson and Florida State also registered victories to close out the weekend.
The No. 8 University of Pittsburgh volleyball team will kick off Pitt Retro weekend Friday night, wearing Retro-colored uniforms for a match against Syracuse at 6 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House.
It’s a 3-way tie atop ACC standings, as 8th-ranked Pittsburgh, Louisville and Syracuse are all off to 4-0 starts in league play heading into week 7 of the 2018 season. The Panthers are undefeated on the season (15-0), while Louisville is 11-4 and Syracuse is 8-4.
Virginia put up 12 blocks, but that did little to stop Pittsburgh from rolling to its 12th straight win of the season.
13th-ranked Pittsburgh swept past 12th-ranked Washington to close Panther Invitational action Saturday and remain undefeated, 9-0, on the season. The Huskies recovered from the loss with a 4-set victory over Kennesaw State in the evening.
The favorites came out on top on Day 1 of the Panther Invitational with No. 13 Pittsburgh winning twice and No. 12 Washington hanging on for a five-set win over Dayton.
Pittsburgh’s All-ACC outside hitter Stephanie Williams made a limited return to action for the Panthers this week.
After downing #1 and all three top teams losing, BYU makes a large jump to the top spot.
Texas makes the jump into the top three along with VERT Challenge foe Florida.
